Esseco Industrial has accompanied, over time, the growth of its companies with a business strategy inspired by shared principles, commitments, and good practices of social responsibility in line with the best international standards.
The Board of Directors (BoD), appointed by the Shareholders’ Meeting of Esseco Group, is responsible for establishing strategies, policies, and objectives disseminated at every level of the organization. In addition to the Board of Statutory Auditors, which oversees compliance with the law and the statute, in accordance with the 231 model and the UNI ISO 45001 certification, the Italian companies provide for a Supervisory Body (OdV) that monitors the functioning, effectiveness, and compliance of the organizational model and the company code of ethics in an impartial manner.
As provided for by the integrated management system dedicated to quality, environment, and safety, the roles and responsibilities of the companies are defined in clear organizational charts, characterized by the presence of highly qualified and competent internal organizational units.
In accordance with the organizational model, the code of ethics, and the current legislation on privacy protection, there is the possibility to report alleged illicit conduct.
Employees and internal and external collaborators can submit a report concerning conduct relevant under Legislative Decree No. 231/2001 (e.g., corporate, environmental, health, and safety crimes) and/or concerning the reasonable/plausible existence of illicit situations, even only potential ones, such as, for example, conflicts of interest.
The companies of Esseco Industrial voluntarily adopt certified rules, behaviors, and processes in compliance with international quality management standards. In some cases, this is achieved through the implementation of an integrated management system covering quality, environment and safety.
Among the certifications, those related to food industry products concerning safety, religious beliefs, and organic products stand out.
Some companies of Esseco Industrial have joined the EcoVadis rating, which evaluates companies based on Sustainability performance, in relation to the four macro-areas: environment, labor practices and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
To effectively manage the risks to which Esseco Industrial companies are potentially exposed, rigorous procedures are adopted for their identification and assessment, which work in synergy starting from a careful analysis of the internal and external context of the organization and providing business continuity management plans.
The risk management model also concerns very sensitive areas, including the transparent management of relationships with some significant stakeholders such as customers and suppliers, who are required to sign the code of conduct. Among the possible risk areas are also those related to the management of compliance in terms of health and safety, with particular reference to the risk of major accidents and the environmental aspects related to our production activities.
