Governance is not a theoretical concept. It is what enables a family business to endure across generations.
Today we are in our fourth generation, with the fifth already being prepared. A journey spanning more than a century that has led us to continuously evolve our organizational model, combining entrepreneurial vision, managerial structure, and responsibility toward the future.
Francesco Nulli, CEO of Esseco Group, parent company of Esseco Industrial, shared this experience at the conference “Family, Business, Future: The New Challenges of Good Governance,” promoted by Confindustria Novara Vercelli Valsesia together with AIDAF (Italian Association of Family Businesses) and Università Luigi Bocconi.
Our model has been built over time on concrete pillars: a two-tier governance structure with clearly defined roles between the family holding and the industrial group; and a structured family governance program dedicated to the Next Generation, designed to prepare future shareholders to be responsible and well-equipped. At the same time, we are fully aware that the journey is ongoing, and that inclusion, renewal, and openness to new skills remain areas in which we must continue to invest.
For us, generational transition is not a single moment. It is a process we have been carefully cultivating over time.
Governance means taking responsibility today to create the conditions for both the business and the family to grow together, with a long-term vision and openness to change.
Our thanks to CNVV for the invitation and to AIDAF for their ongoing commitment to supporting family businesses.
Because the future is not inherited. It is prepared.
