Esseco Industrial, the industrial holding company of Esseco Group, a Novara-based group led by CEO Francesco Nulli with more than a century of experience in organic and inorganic chemistry and a strong specialization in sulphur derivatives and chlor-alkali, announces the acquisition of Hidromet, a Brazilian company headquartered in Matozinhos, in the state of Minas Gerais, specializing in the production of ferrous sulphate monohydrate for the agricultural, feed and animal nutrition sectors.

The transaction, completed through Esseco do Brasil,Esseco Industrial’s Brazilian company, strengthens the Group’s industrial and commercial presence in Latin America’s largest market and consolidates the development path launched in 2012 with the establishment of the company in São Paulo. Originally founded as a commercial operation to import and distribute the Group’s products, Esseco do Brasil has progressively evolved into a local manufacturing presence, working in synergy with the European plants and with the aim of supplying high-quality products closer to its customers.

Hidromet is a leading player in Brazil’s ferrous sulphate monohydrate market, with an established position in animal nutrition and feed supplements. The company employs around 40 people, serves a broad customer base, including major multinational groups, and is recognized for the production of a strategic product for the agricultural and feed sectors, with potential future applications for human use.

The acquisition forms part of Esseco Industrial’s international growth strategy, led by General Manager Roberto Vagheggi, and further strengthens the Group’s presence in Latin America, a region regarded as strategic for its industrial and commercial development. The transaction will enable Esseco do Brasil to broaden its product portfolio, enter a high-potential segment such as animal nutrition, and integrate manufacturing and technological expertise that complements the Group’s existing activities.

From an industrial perspective, Hidromet’s integration strengthens Esseco do Brasil, led by General Manager Eder Ferrari, by adding specialized production technology, a product that is highly complementary to the Group’s chemical value chain, and available production capacity with further growth potential. The transaction will also enhance Esseco’s commercial platform in Brazil, reinforcing its local market presence and opening up new opportunities in other Latin American countries.
