Sustainability in Practice: Businesses, Territories and Operational Models

Sustainability in Practice: Businesses, Territories and Operational Models

18 June, 2026

Sustainability means turning goals and responsibilities into concrete operational choices.

We were invited to take part in “Sustainability in Practice: Businesses, Territories and Operational Models”, an event promoted by Ambiente in collaboration with Toyota Material Handling Italia, held at the BESTE HUB in Prato.

Altair Chemical was represented by Annalisa Montagnani, Energy Manager at Esseco Industrial, who joined the panel dedicated to “Applied Sustainability and Territory”, sharing the experience of an energy-intensive, hard-to-abate industrial company committed to a tangible transition journey.

This journey ranges from the increasing use of renewable energy to process efficiency, from the valorisation of hydrogen produced through electrolysis to the recovery of CO₂ for the production of potassium carbonate, from circular economy applications in ferric chloride production to electric mobility, including ADR transport for chemical products.

Basic chemistry is a complex sector, but for this very reason it can and must play an active role in the transition. For us, sustainability means industrial continuity, innovation, safety, reducing environmental impact and paying close attention to the territories in which we operate.

Esseco Industrial’s claim is “Helping to make life better”. For Altair Chemical, this means creating lasting value: for the company, for people, for customers and for the communities around us.

Thank you to the organisers and to all participants for the discussion and for the opportunity to share experiences, challenges and concrete solutions.
