E-Truck Project: the first results of a new model of industrial logistics

25 August, 2026

During the first half of 2026, the e-trucks involved in Esseco Industrial’s project travelled more than 82,000 kilometres across the operational routes of Altair Chemical and Esseco in Piedmont and Tuscany.

The project represents the first concrete example of fully electric ADR transport in the Italian chemical industry.

This achievement was made possible through collaboration with our transport partners, Germani Trasporti and Autotrasporti Burchianti, and through the technical support of MAN Truck & Bus Italia.

During the first six months, approximately 28,000 litres of diesel were saved, avoiding more than 70 tonnes of direct CO₂ emissions.

A first tangible result towards a more sustainable, efficient and integrated model of industrial logistics.

During the second half of 2026, the focus will be on further optimising e-truck utilisation through more effective planning of routes and logistics operations.

The journey continues.
