Esseco Industrial at INORG2026: Industry and Research for the Future of Inorganic Chemistry

Esseco Industrial took part in INORG2026 – 51st Congress of the Inorganic Chemistry Division & 2nd Edition of the Italian–French Coordination Chemistry Days, held in Turin from 1 to 4 September 2026, bringing its industrial experience in innovation and sustainability in inorganic chemistry to the congress.

The event, held under the joint auspices of the Società Chimica Italiana (SCI) and the Société Chimique de France (SCF), brought together the international scientific community to foster dialogue between research, industry and the next generation of chemists.

As part of the industry-focused session, Paolo Barzaghi, Process & Engineering at Esseco Industrial, presented “Integrating Processes and Sustainability in Inorganic Chemistry: The Esseco Industrial Experience.”

The presentation provided an overview of Esseco Industrial’s experience, showing how process integration, resource recovery, energy efficiency and technological innovation can contribute to making chemistry increasingly efficient and sustainable.

From sulphur chemistry and its derivatives to chlor-alkali processes, through to proprietary solutions such as the Esseco patented process for sodium dithionite production, the presentation highlighted practical examples of how industrial performance can be combined with a lower environmental impact.

Esseco Industrial’s participation in INORG2026 also provided an opportunity to contribute to the dialogue between industry and research, sharing expertise and experience while exploring the technologies and processes that will help shape the chemistry of the future.

The congress brought together an international scientific community in Turin, with the involvement of the University of Turin and its Department of Chemistry, strengthening the exchange between academia and industry around innovation in inorganic chemistry.
